Experience the total solar eclipse in Hendricks County at Lucas Oil Raceway Park.  Ride your bike to the event on the B&O Trail.  Participate in a 5K fun run or simply order a t-shirt to commemorate this special day.

There are many things planned for the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024.  Lucas Oil Raceway Park (LORP), Visit Hendricks County, Brownsburg Parks, Racemaker Productions and the B&O Trail Association are collaborating to bring you a fun-filled afternoon for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in Hendricks County.  Special viewing glasses will be handed out to all who attend.

Plan your route to the event by bicycling on the B&O Trail to Lucas Oil Raceway Park.  We will have "bike trains" led by volunteers from various free parking areas in Hendricks County to avoid some of the heavier traffic around the venue.  Parking will be free at Lucas Oil Raceway Park but traffic volumes could be very high.

RSVP for the "bike train" by clicking HERE.  There is no cost to participate in a bike-train but registering will help us keep in touch with you concerning details ahead of the event.  All bikes will be self-parked at LORP so please bring a lock!

Parking lots that we plan to use include the following:

Cardinal Park/Cardinal Elementary (park and school asphalt parking lots - 2.8 mile bike ride each way, 1:10pm departure.)

Tilden Trailhead on County Road 500 E (gravel trailhead parking lot - 5.7 mile bike ride each way, 12:50pm departure.)

Future Maplewood Trailhead on County Road 500 N (grassy area - 9.4 mile bike ride each way, 12:45pm departure.)

Hendricks County Fairgrounds (southwest gravel lot #1 just off Main Street - 13.9 mile bike ride each way, 12:25pm departure.)

T-shirts are available for purchase ahead of the event.  Click HERE to pre-order your t-shirt.  Shirts will be handed out at Lucas Oil Raceway Park on Monday, April 8, 2024.

A 5K fun run is also planned at Lucas Oil Raceway Park.  Click HERE to register for that event.
