Special Events>Spring and Fall 2008 B&O Trail Horseback Rides

The torrential rains canceled the HCTDA Spring trail ride on Saturday, May 31. Rain flooded the fields at Natural Valley Ranch up to the horses’ knees. The roads were covered with rushing water and the trails were impassable. But a huge crowd on September 27, 2008 is expected to help make up for the washed out spring ride. Many of the trail riders rolled their registration over for the fall ride.

One hour rides on the rental horses will be at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The minimum age for the rentals is 10 years old. Younger children will be able to ride the ponies between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. for $5 per lap around the field. Preregistration will be $30 until September 21st. After that the cost will be $35. Helmets are required for safety.

You can bring your own horse for a two-hour ride, which will move out promptly at 10:00 a.m. noon, 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Pre-registered is $20 until September 21st and $25 after September 21st. Helmets are suggested.

The 6:00 p.m. chuck wagon dinner is $7. Preregistration is required. The campfire, hay bales and picnic tables are a good setting for visiting and eating. No one will go home hungry.

The registration table will be in the parking area for trailers and cars. Please visit the registration table for forms, waivers and check-in before parking and getting your horse ready for the ride.
